Following on from the incredible 2018 Toubkal Challenge and the 2019 100 km Sahara Desert Trek, we are now launching the third challenge in the series, a summit of Mount Elgon, Uganda. This is a very special 8 night/9 day challenge which is the perfect way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 40tude.
A trek on Mount Elgon is a truly unique and special challenge. Our team will trek the Sipi Trail, starting at the stunning Sipi Falls, passing through the Northwestern mountainside through Tutum Cave to enter the Caldera and reach Wagagai Peak.
Visiting Jinja where you will find the source of the River Nile;
Exploring Sipi Falls, where 3 waterfalls flow from different altitudes;
Trekking between 15-25km per day over 5 days;
Summiting Jackson Peak (4165m) and Wagagi Summit (4321m);
Camping throughout the trek;
Trekking through rural farmlands, bamboo forest, mountain heathlands and on to the Caldera Crater;
Fully supported trek with Uganda Wildlife Association Authority (UWA) guides, porters.
