40tude is an innovative and successful charitable organisation that is tackling colon cancer.

For non-smokers, colon cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in the UK.  One in 15 men and one in 20 women are at risk of developing this kind of cancer. However if it is identified early, it’s one of the easiest cancers to treat.

Since 40tude was founded in March 2011, we have raised over £1.4 million to support pioneering research projects at the national bowel hospital, St Mark’s Hospital in Harrow. 40tude achieves results through innovative partnerships with a remarkable group of participants, sponsors, donors and medical specialists.  Together we are making a difference for the many people who are affected by this form of cancer and we aim to reduce the number of people seriously affected by this preventable disease.

We are a registered charity which raises funds and promotes awareness of colon cancer via a series of events and physical challenges throughout the year. The three challenges making up 40tude 2021 Adventure Challenge Series will be key fundraising events for 2021, as nearly 20% of our total fundraising to date has been raised through our previous Adventure Challenges Series which began in 2018.

The funds we raise are vital to help support ground-breaking, bespoke projects targeted at the early diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer, saving lives. For this reason, we ask each participant on our adventure challenges to fundraise. We ask participants to commit to raise (or donate) a minimum of £500 per head.

We appreciate that there is huge variety in the amount individuals are able to raise but, by way of example, our participants usually manage to raise an average of £1,000.  As bowel cancer can be prevented if it is detected early, in seeking sponsorship you will be helping us also to communicate our core messages to a far wider audience:

Be aware of the symptoms of bowel cancer;

Get yourself screened every 5 years from your mid-40s.

Thank you for your support.  We look forward to taking on these brilliant challenges with you.
