A fabulous summit challenge of North Africa's highest mountain.

Mount Toubkal is in Morocco and is the highest mountain in North Africa, standing at 4167m. Beginning with a night in Marrakech then transferring to the beautiful Imlil Valley with an all important acclimitisation trek to optimise the chances of summiting, this is a wonderful challenge for any group.

With huge thanks to our friends at ABF The Soldiers' Charity and Behind the Lens Media, we can view their 2019 summit of Mount Toubkal.

Day 3 - Imlil to Base Camp

The trek to the summit of Mount Toubkal will be tough and challenging and the terrain can be demanding, but the views more than make up for it!  After an early start, it is time to start to ascent to Base Camp which will take around 6 - 7 hours of solid trekking.  We will take it steadily and will enjoy a freshly cooked lunch en route, prepared by our amazing local cooks. We will arrive at our campsite where we can rest before the summit day, and enjoy another amazing meal.

Day 4 – Summit day

Summiting the highest mountain in Northern Africa and looking across the valleys and mountains, towards the dunes of the Sahara will be a once in a lifetime experience.  It will be an early start for summit day as to summit and then return to Base Camp will be between 7 - 8 hours of trekking.  It will be a steady, non-technical trek with plenty of stops, although just before the summit, there are loose rocks which can make the summit itself a little bit of a scramble.  The expert local guides and your Tribal Tracks leader will ensure that you feel confident and safe at all times. After photo opportunities at the summit, you will return to Base Camp where we camp for the last time.
