Over £42k raised to date, now it's time to take on the desert!
This is a joint charity fundraising adventure for DKMS and Race Against Blood Cancer, and the very first overseas fundraising adventure for both organisations. We're incredibly proud that they've chosen us to deliver this life-changing experience. The team's fundraising efforts have been absolutely outstanding, giving every step they take even greater meaning and purpose.
DKMS is an international charity dedicated to fighting blood cancer and blood disorders. It costs around £40 to recruit a single potential stem cell donor, so every pound raised on this challenge will help to add more lifesaving names to the register. Many of the participants have a personal connection to the cause, making this journey all the more powerful. Listen to Sofia's emotional BBC Radio interview about why she and her friends are taking on this challenge.

Race Against Blood Cancer runs donor drive events across the UK, having already signed up nearly 12,000 people to the stem cell register. The charity works hard to increase diversity among donors, focusing on recruiting from minority ethnic communities, while also supporting families waiting for a match and running targeted appeals for those still searching for their donor hero.

In simple terms? Trek 100km across the mighty Sahara Desert, but there's nothing simple about it.
The team's journey begins with a 12–15km 'warm-up' through vast open desert, before the challenge truly kicks in with the toughest day, an epic 34km trek to reach Chegaga's legendary sea of dunes. From there, the terrain shifts, 24km across rugged, rocky plains that gradually transform back into rolling sand. Next comes a demanding 22km traverse of the stony desert, testing both stamina and spirit, before the final 14km push to the finish line.
It will be tough, but it will be unforgettable.
This is what the team members can expect from the journey from previous Sahara 100km Trek finishers:
"I recently had the incredible opportunity to trek through the Sahara Desert, and it was an experience I will never forget. From the moment we started, the vastness and beauty of the desert were awe-inspiring. The golden dunes, the quiet expanse, and the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets made every step of the journey feel like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure." -Alison
"What an immense, awe-inspiring experience! The Sahara skies and desert mornings were incredible, what a journey to have been apart of, I feel very lucky! - Sarah
"I wanted to challenge myself and push my limits...this trek certainly did that! One of the best and most memorable experiences of my life and one that will stay with me. From the people I was with, to the scenery we were privileged to see, and the strength I didn't know I had.. it really was a trip of a lifetime." - Ange
We wish the whole team the best of luck and look forward to receiving updates along the way. Follow our socials, which we will update with photos when we can, signal-dependent!
