Mardi Himal for Oracle Head and Neck Cancer UK
Oracle Head and Neck Cancer UK (formerly Oracle Cancer Trust) is a charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by head and neck cancer, often considered one of the forgotten cancers.
The money raised goes to funding crucial research that helps to understand, diagnose, and treat head and neck cancers. It also runs public campaigns and supplies educational materials to raise awareness about head and neck cancers, as well as providing support and resources for patients and their families.
Oracle runs several events and challenges each year, and earlier in 2024 year a committed Oracle team travelled with Tribal Tracks to the Sahara Desert to take on the Sahara 100km, raising a whopping £10,305 for the charity.
The next overseas fundraising adventure is a challenging trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp, a lesser-known, but breathtakingly beautiful trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The team will stay in teahouses throughout.
To get an idea of the challenge - here is what each trekking day looks like in terms of distance, altitude and expected trekking time.
As you can see, the trekkers will definitely earn every penny of their sponsorship money. To give you an idea of what's possible, the last Tribal Tracks Mardi Himal intrepid trekkers raised £24,441 for 40Tude. Have a look at some of the team's photos below, including photos from Caroline Trotter photography.
Are you ready for this challenge? If so, we have great news! There are a small handful of places left.
The expedition costs £2995 including flights from London. For the fundraising element, Oracle has asked that all trekkers raise £1000 in sponsorship money.
