Getting your visa for Zimbabwe

You will need a visa to visit Zimbabwe, though the process is simple.

It is your responsibility to obtain a visa if required. This guide is tailored for British nationals; other nationalities should check with their respective embassies.

Remember, entry requirements can change, so refer to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and Namibian Embassy websites for the latest updates.

Key Visa Application Guidelines

Apply within three months of the trip start date. We recommend you apply no later than 3 weeks prior to departure

Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Zimbabwe. It must also have at least 3 blank pages.

You can apply for yourself and others, providing you have all of their information

Payment of $55pp + a small $2 admin fee is taken at the end of the application

Applying for your Zimbabwe Visa Online

Before you start, you will need:

  • Around 20 minutes of uninterrupted time (so your application doesn’t time out.)
  • Access to your emails
  • Your arrival flight details
  • Zimbabwe host name and addresses (supplied in an email by Tribal Tracks)
  • Credit/debit card (the visa costs around Approx $55 + a small admin fee (depending on today's exchange rate)

Create an account and start a new application

  • Create an account
  • This is just so you can track your application but you can’t apply for a visa without doing it.
  • Go to https://www.evisa.gov.zw/faq.html
  • Click 'Start the Process in the menu bar'
  • Click 'No Account Yet' to create an account
  • Complete the fields (Full Name, email, password)
  • Log in using your email and password
  • Apply
  • Make a note of the application reference
  • Enter Port of Arrival (Robert Gabriel Mugabi Airport)
  • Add yourself as a 'New Person' and complete the details, it will ask you if you really want to create a new person, click confirm.
  • (If you're applying on behalf of someone else, repeat the above 'New Person' step)
  • Tick the box(s) to the right of your name, then continue


You will need the following info

Mode of travel - By plane
Flight number of the flight you enter Zimbabwe on  (this will be provided if we are booking your flights)
Passport number
Passport expiry date
Purpose of visit- holiday
Duration of stay - 9/10 (days in Zimbabwe itself)
Number of accompanying children - 0
Date of birth
Gender
Marital Status
Home address
Host in Zimbabwe- will be provided
Occupation - will be provided
Address in Zimbabwe- will be provided
Next of kin name, email and contact phone

Check and pay

  • Check details on the summary page
  • Click to confirm information is true and accurate
  • Click I prefer to pay online now rather than at the officer's desk upon arrival.
  • Select payment type (all major cards accepted). Type in card details; you might have to do a transaction authorisation.

Confirmation and print 

  • You will see the page 'Your order has been successfully recorded.'
  • Click Back and 'Track Applications.'
  • Click your application, you will see a screen with a QR code, scroll down and click print approval letter
  • Print this out and bring it with you.
