I took my family on a version of this trip in 2018, and it was wonderful. Oman is still relatively little visited by tourists, especially compared to its neighbour, Dubai, but is all the more charming for this.  There is plenty of scope to get off-the-beaten-track and to catch a glimpse of traditional Arabia.
