Nothing prepares you for the vastness, the remoteness, the stark beauty of this region and the unconditional friendliness of the local people.  A life changing experience.

Tribal Tracks were amazing. Charlie’s guidance and advice both pre departure and during the Wadi Rum trek was always timely, informative and reassuring, this was particularly welcome due to the ongoing conflict next door in Israel. At all times, we felt that our safety was their top priority and not once did we feel that we shouldn’t have been there. I’d go again in a heartbeat. Jordan is a wonderful country, I’m so grateful to TT for providing such a life changing opportunity and ensuring our needs were catered for at every step ❤️

At a Glance

Imagine being transported to a land full of mysterious rock formations: burnt-red sandstone arches and steep-sided canyons, glorious sunrises, spectacular sunsets, and huge Arabian starry skies. Then imagine that you not only get to trek through this, but you do so with the Bedouin as guides, wild camping in jaw-dropping locations, spotting the odd camel, and learning about a different culture.

This 100km route, specially devised by Tribal Tracks with our Jordanian team, takes you through the best scenery of the Wadi Rum, accessing remote areas visited by few, camping in stunning locations and concluding with a visit to one of the wonders of the world, the ancient city of Petra, to see the jewel in the crown of the Nabatean past we have already seen in the Wadi Rum.

This is a very special trek, and we access areas that are very much off the usual route. This allows us to wild camp in amazing areas and experience spectacular sunsets that turn into huge night skies unpolluted by artificial light. The Wadi Rum has space, lots of it, and we are privileged to be able to cherry-pick the most scenic areas to camp in.
