It was absolutely brilliant!!! I loved everything about it, well maybe not the MoMo's (a type of heavy dumpling!!). It was so well organised, with no stone left unturned. Tribal Tracks & 40tude work so well together and produce simply outstanding treks. I loved being with other like minded people and also the fact that I didn't have to think about anything!
I love doing any sport, especially, triathlon (swim, bike, run & cross fit). I am an Explorer Scout leader and love adventures, especially in the mountains. In April 2023, I took part in the Mardi Himal trek for 40tude, which is a bowel cancer charity. I had participated in two cycling trips for 40tude, and had met Gordon M, who runs the charity, along with Amy N, who has participated in many 40tude and Tribal Tracks trips.
I took part as I had always wanted to go to the Himalayas and knew that going with 40tude it would be a fabulous trip and lovely people at the same time as raising awareness for a great charity.

I didn't find the terrain particularly physically challenging - I think that because I do so much sport, I was very well trained and prepared aired. However, the most challenging part for me was the Nepalese food and the very changeable weather. But this was also part of the fun! I loved the fact that one minute we were in 30 degree heat and then it snowed at the top and we had to wear crampons!!
My top tip for other trekkers would be to follow Charlie and Gaynor's kit list and then all will go to plan.
Let’s get you on the right track!
